How to File an Ethics Complaint:

  1. Complaints and Responses from REALTORS® must be typed and fifteen (15) copies must be submitted to WPBOR. If the Complainant is a member of the public, only one (1) typed copy is required. On the Complaint Form, cite an Article or Articles from the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics and include supporting documents.
  2. Complaints and Responses are referred to the Grievance Committee who decides if the issue will be referred to a hearing panel.
  3. If a hearing is scheduled, all parties are notified of the hearing at least twenty-one (21) days in advance.
  4. Parties may be represented by legal counsel if they give notice of intention to be represented fifteen (15) days before the hearing.
  5. Each party must arrange for his witnesses to be present at the hearing.
  6. Each party will receive the names of members of the Professional Standards Committee and will have ten (10) days to notify WPBOR. if any members should be disqualified from serving on the panel.
  7. Do not discuss the case with any member of the Hearing Panel or the Board of Directors at any time prior to announcement of a decision in the case.
  8. The Complainant must be present at the hearing; however, an ethics hearing may proceed even if the respondent is absent.
